Mentoring via video lessons - all Primary Montessori Videos correlate with the Albums

Read the album, watch the video while reading the album page again. In AMI Montessori training, trainees watch as the trainer gives a presentation to the appropriate number of "students" (other trainees); there is no writing or introduction during this time - the adults experience the presentation exactly as a child would. After this presentation, all the trainees take detailed notes as the trainer goes over the presentation again, step by step, this time talking through everything that is happening and why.

In these videos, the following children are present at different times:

  • The oldest male child (was most often present) is a homeschooled child who has had a homeschool Montessori all the way through, with some time spent in a variety of schools. He "acts" as a younger child, sometimes making comments about his original experience with a Montessori material or concept. This child passed away in a sudden accident at age 15 years 7 months.
  • The female children are sisters who stepped in to fill the space left by their cousin's absence. Two are teenagers; one is middle elementary during the video sessions.
    • The middle elementary child assists with the 3-6 year old videos the most often, along with her youngest brother.
    • These children attend traditional public schools but have a Montessori-flavored home life with open communication between adults and children, lots of hands-on practical life skills are learned from a young age. They travel and have a wide variety of real-life experiences.
  • The youngest boy is their younger brother who started the videos at age 2 and ages through the series of 3-6 year old videos. He also helps his older sisters at different times with their video presentations.

All Keys videos with children represent real presentations in a real home setting. We use stage lights only when they don't interfere with our natural presentations. They are not staged or rehearsed except where we needed to edit out some personal bits, sometimes requiring we re-record a small section.

Sometimes the children give the "wrong" answer - and we work with that.

These videos are natural and real. Authentic. Some bloopers even included!
